The Chain and Buoy Store & riverside terrace

The historic Chain and Buoy Store venue is a Grade II listed brick building on the banks of the river Thames in East London. Built in 1864, and connected to London’s only Lighthouse, The Chain and Buoy Store is a large Victorian warehouse space with brick walls and original wooden beams, feature sliding doors, alcoves and curved windows It consists of two separate but interconnecting venues The Buoy Store’s exposed brick and atmospheric lighting makes for the perfect ceremony space whilst the white brick walls of the Chain Store can be used as stand alone reception and dancing space or a for both the ceremony and reception with the use of dividing drapes The Chain Store is offered with a large riverside terrace from which you can enjoy the views of the River Thames, O 2 Arena, and Docklands skyline.

Direct access to the Trinity Buoy Wharf Pier also provides a unique opportunity for guests / clients to arrive by boat. The large entrances also allow for vehicles to be driven into the space if required. The space is licensed for music, alcohol, performance, films and dance until 1am . It is also licensed for wedding ceremonies.

THE CHAIN STORE: CEREMONY & RECEPTION VENUE

Capacity: 80 to 210 for a dinner/dance. Up to 300 for a dinner (tables removed for dancing). Up to 500 for a standing or lounge reception

Access times: 09:00 to 04:00 Music must be off and bar closed by 01:00. Guest final departure by 01:45. All items removed by 04:00.

Facilities: 7 x toilets inside the venue (2 disabled). 3 phase 63 amp power and lots of regular 13amp domestic sockets. 2 x Coat rails. Large outdoor terrace with river views and a 5m2 unequipped kitchen unit. Internal lighting consists of spot lights for all the tables and bar, room break ups, stage lighting, disco moving heads, mirror ball and 16 uplighters for the brickwork and arches.

Extra costs: Security charged at £20.50 per guard per hour (1 per 75 pax min 2). Post event clean £195. Summer garden (May to Sept) £265. Optional extras such as live trees, lighting and furniture, drapes to divide the Chainstore for ceremonies also available.

Parking: 5 spaces on a weekday, 10 spaces on a weekend.

Capacity: up to 300 ceremony layout

Access times: 09:00 to 18:00

Facilities: 7 x toilets inside the venue (2 disabled). 3 phase 3 2 amp power and lots of regular 13amp domestic sockets. 2 x Coat rails. Internal lighting consists of room break ups, and 16 uplighters for the brickwork.

Parking: Combined with Chain Store 5 spaces on a weekday, 10 spaces on a weekend.

Pricing: Peak rates apply from May to October and December. Off peak rates apply from January to April and November.
